Quick Help (from complete Arcane)

We need to know the name and effects of the feat from the Complete Arcane book, that raises your spellcasting level by 4 (to a maximum of your HD). It's for the game we're playing right now.

Practiced Spellcaster. It does exactly as you say. It only affects caster level. You dont' get more spells, you can't cast higher level spells than you otherwise could've. Do you have a specific question?

Yep, 4 ranks in Spellcraft.

You need Spellcraft 4 ranks. It's really great for multiclass builds

It does indeed raise your caster level by 4 but will not raise it higher than the number of HD you have.

Exactly. So a Sorcerer5 will get no benefit from it, but a Sorcerer1/Fighter4 will. However, if he's a Sorcerer2/Fighter3, he'll get a +3 to his Caster Level, not +4 (since that would put his caster level at 6, which is higher than his Hit Dice).
