Quick multiplier question...

If a mounted rider with Ride by Attack, Spirited Charge, 18str, +1 lance, charges how much damage does he do on a normal hit and on a critical?

Is it:
(4Str+ 2(Two Handed)+ 1lance=7)x3=3d8+21hp on a normal hit
5d8+35 on a critical

Does the critical multiplier go to x4, x5, or x6 on a Spirited Charge critical?

Damage Multipliers:
Charging with a lance: X2
Charging with a lance and Spirited Charge: +X1 (ie X3)
Critical while charging with a lance and spirited charge: +X2 (ie X5)

As for damage for the situation you present, I'm not absolutely sure because of how you calculate bonus damage because of STR when wielding a lance with one hand. I'll assume you only get the bonus damage X1 (and not X1.5), since you're holding the lance in one hand. There is debate about this in another thread started by Hypersmurf.

Normal spirited charging hit:
3d8 + (1 [lance] + 4 [STR])

Critical spirited charging hit:
5d8 + 25

The easiest way to think about stacking multipliers in d20 is to treat them as percentage increases. For example, a x2 multiplier really means +100%, and a x3 multiplier really means +200%. Therefore, Sprited Charge gives you +100%, charging with a lance gives you +100%, and a critical hit gives you +200%. (a lance is a x3, isn't it? I don't have my books handy.) That gives you a total damage bonus of +400%, or a x5 multiplier on a critical hit.
