Quick questions - Invisible summoner

Just to clarify, casting a summon whatever spell does not turn an invisible person visible. However, a listen check (DC 0) will reveal a person "over there somewhere" making noise and not being seen with a +1 to the DC for every 10 feet between the listener and the caster.

Also, hearing the spell is good enough for a spellcraft check the caster need not be seen.

The party has come across a cathredal that is occupied by bugbears and they have a cleric with the trickery domain and a 7th level wizard so this is going to come up, especially since they are literally kicking in the door (or at least trying to break it down)

You are right by the RAW but I would adjust the DC to identify the spell by +2.

Techincally the Dc to identify does not change. (though he house rule it as a +5 to dc for each component you can't see, hear) but also remember the DC is to understand what they say is at +10. So if they are 25 feet away and beat a DC of 2 then they know its spell casting but to actually understand what is being said is a DC of 12. So my understanding is you would have to know what is being Said to ID it as more than just spell casting.

Good point. That's the missing piece. The wizard has the conjuration domain from UA so he has a Summon Monster 4 tucked away.

I'm thinking he's either going to go for 2-5 fiendish monstrous scorpions or maybe a fiendish dire wolf depending on how many of the bugbears are still standing when he arrives to the battle (he's on the 3rd floor and it's going to take 5 rounds for someone to get to him, tell him the building's under attack and have him arrive invisibly)
