Quick Two Weapon Question

Please confirm: if a first level fighter uses a feat to take two weapon fighting, the only benefit is a +1 to attack - no additional attacks or bonus to damage, is this right?

Thanks. Quick follow up, is this the same for a ranger's two weapon style feature? The benefit is basically that they don't have to take this feat and still get the +1 to damage? Thanks again in advance. I know these questions must seem pathetically easy to some of you guys!

No. Rangers who choose the Two-Blade Fighting Style feature gain Toughness as a bonus feat and the ability to use a one-handed weapon in their off hand. Everybody else has to wield a weapon with the off-hand property.

Awesome. What's the benefit of it not being an off-hand weapon? More damage, better or more attacks? Or just thematically consistent with all the two-weapon powers that a ranger gets?

You can use bigger weapons, which inflict more damage.
