Quick War of the Worlds question

Didn't see any threads addressing this, so: All I want to know is if they changed the ending of the story. Don't care what else is changed or added, but I don't want to go in expecting the original end if it has been changed.

Taking the HG Wells original story and following it more closely than expected (from the tripod designs, to the all too rushed and almost anti-climactic deus ex machina ending)...

I would say, yes, they did keep the original ending.
