Quickdraw Feat=Useless

Useless until you have BAB +6, a level of ranger, surprise a foe, are surprised by a foe, use a polearm/sword combo, or throw daggers or other weapons.

Did I miss anything?

I am playing in a higher level campaign and my 15th Assassin character can give you a chilling demonstration of what bluff and quickdraw can do to someone stadning right in front of him with their eyes wide open.

I play a dwarven fighter who has quickdraw. I actually wind up using it often, but here are two (semi-common) situations where it payed for itself:

* The party snuck into a stronghold and ambushed a pack of guards. All went down except for one that was sprinting for an alarm bell. It was my turn and the guard went after me, so he HAD to go down. With a 15' move, I couldn't reach him even if I charged. So, I quickdrew a throwing axe...shwosh, shwosh, shwosh, clang!...against the wall -- miss. I get two attacks per round. Quickdraw another throwing axe...shwosh, shwosh, shwosh, whack!...and he goes down.

We continued our stealthy invasion of the stronghold.

* The party inadvertantly sprung a green slime trap. While the rest of the party spent their ONE FULL ROUND scraping the stuff off with whatever they had in hand -- and rolling damage for their hard-earned magic weapons, magic staffs, etc. -- I was able to quickdraw a trusty 8gp throwing axe and scrape it off.

Not once have I thought I wasted the feat, or wish I had picked another one.

Nothing a nicely targeted ray spell couldn't fix. :D

i allways forget to take this feat, and i would say that 9 out of 10 combats, i wish i had it. but that tenth fight is allways right before i go up a level that gives me quickdraw. sometimes, i just get gloves of storing to make up for my idiocy. same with improved initiative. i take stupid feats instead like improved unarmed and mounted combat.

all hail the mighty haversack!

Consider switching between melee and missle weapons.

This is where I've seen Quick Draw shine in my gaming group. Our ranger/arcane archer uses Quick Draw and a glove of storing in such a way that she's never without the weapon she wants. Her stock weapon is a bow, but if something gets into melee range with her, (free-action) store the bow (free-action) Quick Draw a rapier, and she's set. She also uses the feat to Quick Draw a Wand of Cure Light Wounds and be able to use it in the same round during combat...

All in all, one of the nicer feats, though not for everyone.
