Quickened spells and readied actions

This is actually for Eqrpg game, but as it still applies to 3e too, thought I would ask it.

Can a caster who states that he/she is readying a spell to go off before the other casters to try and disrupt the casting with damage, use a quickened spell then the normal readied spell?

Example: The caster starts to cast, I cast a quickened magic missle(actually it was Shock of Ice in the EQ game) then cast magic missle(which I was readying), therefore making the aforementioned caster make a spell check for being hit DC 10 + spell level+damage, is this all correct?

Yes, you can cast a quickened spell on a readied action. (You can do free actions whenever it's your turn, and it is temporarily your turn again when you take your readied action.)

However, I believe that two seperate spells would cause two seperate Concentration checks, as the damage is not taking place at exactly the same instant. They take the damage from the first spell, make their concentration check, and then take the damage from the 2nd spell and (if they succeeded at the first concentration check) then try to make their 2nd concentration check.

Basically each source of damage causes it's own concentration check at the time the damage is applied.

*sigh* That's going to start *THAT* debate all over again (even though I agree with you Caliban there are many that do not).

Hmmmm - I stop hanging around the forums for a few months and I see the same stuff over again. Makes you wonder if it's even worth it.

Yes, but remember that without general access to the search function people will repost the same questions and you must also take into consideration that there are new people joining the boards all the time.

I realize that it can be frustrating, Ice Bear, but many people look to members such as yourself and Caliban for clarifications about the game and most value your interpretations.

Keep "bothering.";)

Thanks as Caliban, as I didnt think that they were seperate since it was "as he was casting" and it occurred the same action. It may have mattered as the DC would have been much lower and he had a good channeling(EQRPG uses channeling..same as concentration in 3E).
