Quiet Quiver

Quiver that casts silence on ammunition, when the ammo is removed from the quiver.

Quiver itself does not suffer the effect of silence but upon drawing the ammo out of the quiver for use, the spell is in effect centered on the ammo object. Can place any ammo in the quiver.


Would this work? I think everyone knows what we're going to use it for.

I don't see why you couldn't make it, in theory, but my guess is that it'd be pricey.

I think you'd be better off with a magic arrow that becomes silenced when it strikes it's target. Probably easier to make, significantly less powerful, and fairly easy to draw up.

But it only effects that one arrow, this would be like 50 odd potions of silence (in that once the arrows are drawn no more could replace them....) Or do you mean they should convert non-magical arrows?

Make it 50 charges, command word activated, the next piece of ammo drawn is affected by silence.

Why would that be any different than a wand of silence 4,500 gp?

OK, better comparison would be to a Scabbard of Keen Edges - Price 16,000 gp. Casts a third level spell (keen edge) three times per day, command activated. I'm looking to only cast a second level spell (silence).

No, the quiver does not create arrows, it just silences any ammo placed inside it, magic or non-magic or otherwise.

Use the Scabbard of Keen Edges as an example.

OK, just like that but silence instead of keen edge and more times per day. Could even work on javelins, spears, or anything you would carry in a quiver or basket-type thing.
