Quintessential Druid?

I'd like to know what direction Alejandro is aiming with that Gnome book. IMO, gnome culture should center around animals (forget all elf-boasting of being THE harmonious-with-nature race... All gnomes can speak with (some) animals, this is going to have some influence on their culture !), magic (all gnomes not totally dumb can cast three arcane spells per day... Then again, they beat every competition in the "I'm more magical than you" contest), alchemy (they've got a racial bonus here, folk) and finally, humour (including self-derisive humour, which protects them from the hurbis and pride that befall most other races).

But since Dragonlance, we're overwhelmed with techno-minded tinkerish cybersteam gnome crap. I just hope the self-destruction tinkering will be kept at a minimum.

Quint. Druid

Back to the Druid for a second. I would love to see a variant Druid (and Ranger for that matter) based upon growing up in and protecting subterranean ecology in lieu of the woodsy archetypes.

Any thoughts?

I only got fighter. I DO want Quint Ranger and Quint Paladin. Course I'll probably get more WHEN they get done with the core classes.

How do you determine in what order the books are written/released?

I know you wanted to make the "Core Four" first, but then after that was it like picking names out of a hat?

There is no hard and fast scheme for which Quintessential books come next, and we are often at the mercy of quality submissions and what the writers actually want to do themselves. If I had it my way, we would have had a Ranger and Sorcerer book long before now :)

However, the core classes and races should all be complete during the next year.
