D&D 4E Quotes on 4e pre-GenCon

Though some of the WotC people knew they'd been misquoted/misinterpreted and didn't clear things up until after 4e was announced.

I'm sure you understand the reason for that: it would have been impossible to do so without giving the game away. The game, in this case, being 4e. Really, it's lose-lose with a side order of lose.

At GenCon 2 years ago when 4E was brought up, I heard Gwendolyn Kestral say something like, "There are absolutely no 4E products on our planned release schedule."

Which to me was a dead giveaway that 4E was coming, just not within the next year or so. So when 4E was announced at GenCon this year, my suprise factor was extremely low.
