I think the quote feature is overused at times. People also laugh at things that aren't funny, then someone quotes that too. It's a vicious cycle...

Seriously, the quote feature is there, so why not use it? In fact, I'm of the oppinion that it's not used enough at times and people just assume you know what part of a post you're responding too.

I think the problem isn't quoting, it's not trimming quotes. Quotes are useful to refer to specific things, but we don't always need to see the entire original post, do we? It gets pretty bad when there's a huge quote and a one-line response.

I've done it too, only very rarely. I almost always try to trim.

Never said there was plenty, Acquana...that's what you said. Is that a fact you're stating, or are you insinuating something I never said? Oh yeah, it's not like I called for a total removal of the ability, just for people to not overuse it. It's one thing to have power...it's another to know when to use it.
