Qustion about the price of a certain sword

We recently found a pair of unique swords. Here is the description of the first:

+2 mithral axiomatic longsword with a hilt set with six sapphires. Whenever the wielder scores a critical hit on a creature with the sword (even if that creature is normally immune to damage from critical hits), the sword creates a powerful blast of windstorm-force wind. The creature hit can make a DC 18 Fortitude save to resist the effects of the wind. Small or smaller creatures (or flying medium creatures) are blown away by this blast of wind. Creatures on the ground are knocked down and roll 1d4x10 feet, taking 1d4 points of nonlethal damage per 10 feet. Flying creatures are blown back 2d6x10 feet and take 2d6 points of nonlethal damage. Medium creatures (or flying large creatures) that fail this save are knocked down. Huge (or land-bound large) and larger creatures suffer no noticeable effect from the blast of wind.

If the wielder fights with the lightning sword and this sword, he may strike the two swords together as a standard action to generate a 30 foot line of sonic energy. All creautres in this area take 6d6 sonic damage (Reflex DC 18 half). This ability can be used three times per day.

Moderate transmutation; CL 9th; Craft Magic Arms & Armor, order's wrath, control winds; Price 35,000gp.

My question is about the "price". I suspect that it should be "cost" (the cost to make) rather than price (the market value). Since a plain +2 axiomatic sword is worth 32,000 gp.

If each of those special abilities (the wind proc and the sonic combo) are priced at +1 equivalent, then the given price (35k) is about half what the sword would have for a market value.

Does that sound likely? If not, how could the Price of this weapon actually be 35,000 gp?

And a follow-up question: Do swords have powers that aren't equivalent to +'s price-wise? I'm not sure how the price of the special weapons in the SRD we're figured out.

A +2 mithral axiomatic longsword for a medium creature is priced at 32,000 (+4 bonus) + 2,000 (mithral, 4 lbs, or +0 gp if you rule that the 500 gp / lb is counted after mithral and then you use the limit theorem). So, according to your quote, it's only 1,000 gp for those two abilities, which is patently ridiculous.

It's a typo.

My theory is that the 1000gp covered the price of the saphires and so the mistake was using the word "Price" instead of "Cost". I've heard from others that the saphires could just be flavor text (covered by the cost of the enchantment). That sounds reasonable, but then the price/cost math doesn't hold.

In either case, we're left trying to figure out what this sword should really be worth.

It's never cost. That would be a significant error and not just a typo. There's a reasonable chance that whoever made the item failed to realize that axiomatic is +2.
