R&C Spotlight Interview with Michelle Carter

Hopefully they aren't the 'good' pact makers. Fluffy, silly, helpful fey make me retch. Faerie tales are bloody for a reason, and there's always a price involved.

elven paladin didn't have to worry about being slowed down by heavy armor as much. Why?

I suspect that this ties in with the references we've had regarding fighters and heavy armor. The retain higher Dex bonuses, so it's possible they might retain better movement as well in heavy armor. Paladins, you could imagine, get similar benefits to fighters in heavy armor.

Pinotage

I'm thinking that when gnomes and half-orcs reappear with full PC race treatment, they're going to be at least as Eberron-esque as halflings are Dragonlance-esque. Interesting, non-creepy stories that don't seem all that unique to Khorvaire.

They finally fixed one of the pictures and it is a dragonborn sketch.

My R&C is still in the mail, so I cannot confirm, but I would think so.

I hope those things on his arms are some kind of bracer, not natural to all Dragonborn.

I gotta say, I am not feeling the new Tiefling look at all. The horns are too ridiculously big, and their skulls are not at all adapted to having horns. They look like they're wearing funny helmets.

The Minotaur art I've seen that uses big horns looks fine because the skull is shaped differently; it "works". The same cannot be said of the Tieflings.

And what's with all these weapons with the funky whorls and curves? They look impractical and dumb. It's the weapon equivalent of the chainmail bikini: some people may like the look, but you'll get killed trying to use it.

Yeah, I was just on my way here to make noise about that. Finally a dragonborn picture! And, amazingly, I'm totally happy with it. Mostly because it could basically pass for an especially badass-looking lizardman.

Tiefling cultural design aesthetic is apparently inmspired by flames---just like the dwarven weapons shown earlier were all straight edges and severe angles.

I like this conceit, I think it reinforces cultural identity, and I sure as hell don't care about whether these weapons would function in the 'real world'.
