R2: Rats in a Maze [Manzanita judging]

"We can't just leave them," Metrius protests to Babette. "Someone might get hurt!"

"Oh, for the love of...,"Babette mutters, rolling her eyes. "They probably do this sort of thing every weekend. They'll be fine. Now, if you big strong boys wanna go get yourself mixed up in it, be my guest. I'll be waiting somewhere with my back against the wall."

Two burly figures stride out of the back wielding cudgels and shouting orders. A few smart raps and they have the two brawlers subdued and bodily remove them from the common room. The rest of the patrons watch the bouncers do their job, then resettle their chairs and resume their drinking.

Tor felt Gideon was likely to be right, and is just as glad that the bouncers took care of things so quickly.

"Somewhere in this town, we're bound to find something more in need of our attention than a few tavern drunks." Tor murmurs. He looks out the window to see if the sky has cleared at all. How long do storms usually last in these parts?

OOC: Posting on all of my games at the moment - I'm going to be away travelling with work and extending the trip into a holiday (to Japan - wooo!), at the end of August/early September (leaving on 28th for 3 weeks). I may be online occasionally during this time, I'd guess at around 2-3 times a week. Hopefully it's OK to leave Metrius to be NPC'd during this time?

Fimble McGee, Gnome Illusionist

Fimble twiddles his nimble fingers while time whittles away. Briefly he wonders what exactly he and the gang are doing here, following the suggestion of some suspicious strangers. He decides to simply go along with it and enjoy his drink... but not so much that he would be hampered should any kind of 'situation' arise. In fact, his cider has barely been touched. In Fimble's humble opinion, it's a mite too strong for his small gnomish body.

"Rain or darkness aside, I think we should be going. Let's visit the next place on our list, and then call it a night if needs be." Gideon stands and looks at the rest of the group.
