R2: Rats in a Maze [Manzanita judging]

[sblock=Fimble, Gideon and Metrius] Metirus hope that the blessings of Ullura may make him more helpful, and uses the boost to his Charisma "Of course, you can contact us at the Wishing Well should you have any information regarding robberies, or the sewers, break ins, or any suspicious activities. And I am sure we will put in a good word at the council for you, they will doubtless make it worth your while. Is there anything we might do to help your recollections? Metrius asks, his hand fingering his money pouch. (OOC: Diplomacy +8, Bluff +8)

If talking him round proves unsuccessful, Metrius will mutter a Charm Person (Will save DC 13) and ask him if he's sure there's no other information he knows that may be of interest of of use, or any other people?[/sblock]

ooc: I'm operating under the assumption that we're still waiting for the other set's play to catch up with our 'present.' If I'm wrong or you otherwise need input from Tor, let me know.
ooc: Unless you and Heckler want to do something at the Inn besides stand around in the common room, feel free to wait for the others.

Drezel eyes Metrius' money pouch, doubtless as Metrius intended, as a small smile creases his face. "Oh, I'm sure I'll be able to provide you something of use. I do want to be a good citizen."

Metrius' spell seems to have no effect on the gnome. "I'll present my information to you at the Wishing Well, if not today then undoubtedly sometime tomorrow. I do want to make sure I provide you with something useful."
[sblock=Metrius: ]Despite his tone, and his apparent interest in your gold, you're not sure if Drezel's being entirely forthcoming yet.[/sblock][/sblock]

[sblock=In Drezel's shop]Metrius nods. "Thank you then, kind sir. The three of us shall wait for you at the the Wishing Well in the morning, with Ullura's blessings. Shall we await you at, say, 9am? I can assure you that the council, and this man of the church, will be grateful for your cooperation."

Making to leave, he takes a quick glance around the place to see what sort of stock Drezel keeps and what sort of trade he's involved in.[/sblock]

Fimble McGee, Gnome Illusionist

[sblock=Fimble, Gideon & Metrius]Fimble bows deeply. "We thank you, sir, the merchants of the city would thank you, and I am certain you will thank yourself when all is said and done." Fimble winks at that last statement and exits the shop with the others, heading towards the Inn.

On the way, Fimble chats about the encounter. "I liked him well enough, but it seemed to me that he was hiding something. I'm not sure yet why Dak sent us to him. Is he a friend of Dak's, or an enemy? I avoided dropping his name for that reason." The gnome's expression turns worried. "I don't think this is the case, but it's quite possible that I have just tipped off the rats in the sewers to our presence. And they'll either scurry like the rats they are or... they'll swarm us and devour us." He shudders. I warned Drezel of the dangers of this new enemy... I should probably heed my own advice.[/sblock]

[sblock=Fimble, Gideon and Metrius]Metrius nods at Fimbles words as they head back.

"Yes, I'm not sure I trust him either. I'm sure he's hiding something, and I hope he'll prove me wrong but I suspect we may be looking at an ambush tomorrow night, if not before. Hopefully he thinks there's just the three of us though... but we might not be that lucky. I guess we'll find out more in the morning, but I think we'd better be on our guard until then."[/sblock]

[sblock=Fimble, Gideon & Metrius]"Well, if the others managed to get ahold of a map of the sewers, we'll be going down there shortly, so if you did tip off those responsible for the robberies, we may still catch them by surprise." Gideon takes a careful look around to ensure they aren't being followed. "We should get back to the inn."[/sblock]

Drezel appears to be your standard antique dealer. His shop is filled with old furniture, knick-nacks, jewelry, some pieces of art, that sort of thing.
[sblock=Metrius: ]As you and your companions approach the Wishing Well you catch a glimpse of movement out of the corner of your eye. You turn toward it and, while you're not 100% certain, you could swear you see the tail of a large rodent disappearing down an alley.[/sblock][/sblock]

As Tor and Babette loiter in the lobby of the Wishing Well waiting for a table to open up in the dining room their companions stroll in the front door. Fimble, Gideon and Metrius see their companions waiting patiently for them.

"Ah! There you are! Shall we talk as we walk?"

Tor looks about at the many people present. He's ready to head out and figures wherever the group goes from here they'll be harder to eavesdrop upon in motion.
