I have seen, or plan to use, good individuals from the following races:

NPCs:
Fire Giant
Duergar
Mind Flayer (a 'vegetarian', he only consumed the brains of animals)

PC's:
Yuan-Ti
Gnoll (Crawling Ghost, cleric/rogue. One of my favorite characters ever)

Rakshasas. That would be really surprising. It fits into the ogre magi paradigm: smart enough to make the alignment change possible, but also smart and deceptive enough to make players think it's a trick.

And somehow, the image of a rakshasa paladin appeals to me.

Demiurge out.

Backwards facings hands holding a holy falchion in what would normally be a down grip.

Yeah I can see how that would be rather cool. :)

Ooh, and maybe Cloakers. Cloakers are alien enough as it is, but having them be really alien and at the same time not evil would be worthwhile, I think.

Definitely.

Or a Chuul.

That's a very good idea. I'll have to use an evil one and then a good one in my upcoming campaign (which also has a Paladin PC).

Minotaur, unless you've ever had a non-evil minotuar PC that is. Make him where he can't speak common but he absolutley refuses to fight even if attacked at least for a couple rounds.

To me, gnolls are the most evil of the humanoids . . . I'll had goblins hold people for ransom, but gnolls . . . yeah, better to fight to the death against them, 'cause you don't wanna know.

Ever wonder why there are no half-gnolls? Don't ask.

Tieflings come to mind, though people don't seem to be nearly surprised by a good tiefling as an evil aasimar.

Kobolds of course. What person who has played Neverwinter Nights could forget Deekin, the kobold bard.

What about Skum? Or Grimlocks?
