While I agree that the landscapes in W&M were jaw-droppingly good, some of the illustrations in R&C are very evocative, such as this dwarf wizard:

I don't think I've ever wanted to play a dwarf wizard so much in my life...

My favorite illustration in Races & Classes, by the way, is the following, though the resolution makes it lose some punch.

That's my favourite too, because it shows the elf warlock and her environment.

OK, because it shows the hot elf warlock and her environment.

The Elf warlock is my favourite as well.

There is actually a thread now on the official forum about the Half-Elf eye image. It appears in the text beside it, it says:

"half-elven eyes are circular, but their eyes are more angled. If they choose to follow the path of their elven ancestors in a bloodline commitment, their pupils and irises will become oval in shape."

My personal opinion is this could mean 4e is sorta in-line with a more Tolkienish view of Half-Elves, were a Half-Elf can decide to become more human or embrace their elvish side.

How crass! I enjoy it because the warm reds, browns, and golds immediately draw the eye to the central figure, though the viewer is rewarded for further exploring the illustration, noticing touches such as rune inscribed stones, the placid pond, and the manner in which the petals falling from the figures hands glow.

I also have a thing for redheads.

Thats a good one. I like most of the dwarves and some of the humans. Though its very hard to tell some of the halflings from some of the humans. I sadly have to go by the dreadlocks, which is a little disturbing.
