I just love this dwarven oxen boxer. Well, she's just an oxen boxer on her free time. Her day-job is cleric of Moradin.

I'm surprised I have not seen more comment about the fact that Dwarves now seem to have a slight Central/East Asian aesthetic to them now. It is obscured somewhat by geometric styling, but it really seems to be there in facial features, clothing choices, and weapon aesthetics, at least in some pictures. At the very least, they are deliberately avoiding the Viking Dwarf stereotype.

I really like the look of the new dwarves. They are awesome now.

On a side note... I never really understood the whole "Dwarf Gundam Armor" debate until now... I always thought that the posters complaining about that on some boards were referring to some of the ornate, geometric samurai-style helmets on some of the dwarves (which would make them look Gundam-like, since Gundams are supposed to look like giant robotic samurai), but they really do have a dwarf decked out like a Gundam Mk-II in a sketch. Awesome. :D

Why does all the characters have too short legs? Example ? Another At least the ones drawn by Lee Moyer. I hope the characters in 4e will be normally proportioned.

I think they're trying to be more realistic, or perhaps it's a way they're differentiating between races.

A 'normal' human is supposed to be 6 'heads' tall (from cranium to chin). This is what they tell you in drawing class anyway. A model, or idealized human figure, is supposed to be 7-8 heads tall, most of which goes into the legs. This also has the side effect of making the figure appear thinner in proportion. A comic book superhero is supposed to be 9 heads tall, which is partly why they're all bulked out with muscle, they'd look rediculous otherwise.

The elf pics seem to be 7 heads tall, while the humans seem to be 6. Dwarves clock in at 4 heads tall.

EDIT: Though, some of the human pics seem to be 5 heads tall... strange stylistic choice.

My sneaking suspicion is that Lee Moyer just does proportions badly (halfling or not - all his humans are screwed up, so the halfling point is moot). Too bad if 4E will contain much of this, IMO.
