Races and Classes cover on Amazon!

Meh.

Double Meh.

Triple Meh, even. . .

But then again, the cover could be a priceless work of art and it still wouldn't get me to pay $20 for a preview. :p

Blech. Hate the picture. Skeptical about a "preview" book, but not dismissing it out-of-hand.

On the plus side, with all the tieflings they're showing before 4E releases, maybe they'll get it out of their system and I won't have to look at them anymore. I can hold my nose any get 4E, despite the tieflings. Just don't make it so hard to ignore them.

regarding this

Any new information on this?

And by that I mean what its going to be about?

Last i heard it was the designers explaining what they've done to bring about the changes to the 4e phb but I am probably wrong on that.

While I love the art, I don't see me ponying up $20 solely for preview material. I'll need to peek through it a little before I make any final decisions.

Yeah, that's my favorite of the 4e preview sketches.

IS this book a 4E specific book, or is it actually a look at races and classes throughout D&D and what they mean and why they are there? Does "premier designers" mean historically premier designers -- from Gygax to Mearls -- or does it mean the 4E R&D team?

Meh on the concept; meh on the art.

The whole concept of paying $20 for a rules preview bothers me.

As for the art, it's better than the average 3E art in someways, but (1) that sword looks like a light saber, (2) what's with those daggers?, (3) the horns are way over-played on the tiefling (a problem I have with all of the tiefling art), and (4) we still have a Hooker Plate (TM) problem with that rogue's outfit. Adventuring in high heels, are we? Blech.

EDIT: I prefer the pencil sketch, because it's not obvious the sword is glowing green.

I would just wait until someone pirated it. And most of the details will probably be posted here anyway once it is released.

I love your attitude it really makes me want to make more products like this...Not!

Just can't see purchasing two preview books with very little, if any mechanics, for $20 each...then purchasing a preview module for $30( I think). Why is it White Wolf gives free demo's and quickstarts of their games for free but to get the total "preview" of 4e is going to cost something like $70?

Scott's point is valid... pirates don't hep any creative industry or the fans of such.

Actually, this is the first time I've seen a poster advocate pirating RPG material on these boards.
