Races of Eberron Cover Art and Petition

Personally, I'm getting it as soon as I can afford it.
Its just sad, that I cant put it right next to Sharn and the ECS.

I like to keep my D&D Library very sorted and organized.

All my FR books are together. All my splat books are together. All the Enviroment books and the Players option type books with similar bindings, ect etc.

So, the cover, to me, is sorta important. granted i'm nitpicking....but hey. I'm a fan.

The original cover is nicer; the Eberron trade dress is just plain cooler than core D&D. Nothing to get in a bind about, but I'm happy to take the 30 seconds to fill out the petition.

Although I do think the Eberron trade dress is more impressive overall, I'm also tired of not being able to actually see the whole cover art. I'm ambivalent over the issue.

I'm not sure I get you? Both cover images were posted by the Ledger. Granted the second one was smaller, but thats what was available on the WOTC site.

If you can find me a better cover image for the new cover somewhere I'd be happy to replace it over at the ledger.

The Eberron trade dress seriously truncates the actual artwork, reducing most of it to a faded grayscale part, and only the central part in the big circle actually being put in color with full brightness and contrast. I know you can see the entire cover, the the cover doesn't show the entire artwork. And since the artwork is usually really cool Wayne Reynolds' pieces, that kinda ticks me off.

I understand now. Gotcha.
I tend to think that its like looking at the scene through a lookingglass or something.

I like it a lot, though I can see why you dont.
Though the real issue is having all the Eberron books like the same.

I think it dilutes the brand image, as you don't notice immediately like the Eberron style covers. Won't stop me from buying it, but still looks a lot less impressive and WORTH my money. :\

The new cover is better, I prefer being able to see the artist's work rather than a kaleidoscopic jumble of awkwardly cropped bits.

There are some ridiculous people over there...Keith Baker popped in and said that the contents were exactly what they'd asked for, and some of them say "screw that man, I'm not getting it with the standard Races cover."

Wankers.
Nobody is ever unreasonable at EN World. ;)

Well, I consider myself a fan of Eberron, but I have to admit that CS-specific books tend to be very low on my priority list-- though I might make an exception for Races of Eberron due to the fact that Eberron has a couple of new, intriguing races.

I'm very nitpicky about making certain that my books group properly-- and like others in this thread, I would much prefer that the Races of Eberron book fit in with my (as-yet woefully incomplete) Eberron collection instead of with my core books.

Petition signed, but it's certainly not a dealbreaker to me.
