[Races of Faerun] Why I like breachgnomes

My PCs like to get killed in a spectacular fashion. They like to be killed in such a way that there's not a big enough chunk of them to bury.

Most of all, I like to say, "Go on without me." And then turn to face the horde of cave goblins by myself.

And breachgnomes are all over that. They stand their ground and say, "None shall pass!"

Sure, dwarven defenders are the same idea. But with a gnome, it's so unexpected.

Is this a prestige class, or a race? It was a kit in the 2nd edition Complete Book of Gnomes and Halflings I believe, and they were definitely good for that last stand, go on without me type guy; actually I figured a gnomish defender would be about the same effect.

Prestige class. I fiddled with them for RoF (I was the book's developer). They get some neat stuff in 3E.

Good man, Sean. One of my favorite kits from 2 Edition.

I haven't seen a copy of RoF yet, but by all indications, it's great stuff.
