Giuseppe slipped the coins and bank notes into his pockets as Lane started looking over the ledger. He then when and checked the small file cabinet in the office also. It was unlocked and full of a bundles of papers that appeared to be past bills and payment notes from various family, etc. There were also detailed inventories of personal affects, identifying marks, etc. Reading over the second ledger Lane does not find anything more then what Giuseppe had and is quite confident that the man is mad. But from his rambling she gets a couple of ideas on who or what might have been driving the poor mortician crazy... she needed additional information to confirm it but she had her suspicions. Whatever the man was doing was outside normal magic or religious experiments. She had never heard of such abominations before now and it was quite unsettling. What was he hoping to achieve, or perhaps a better question, what did the voices hope to achieve with these experiments? And of course the rumors of dark spirits and ghosts had been rampant on Summer Street for some years now. She had investigated the area herself over the years and while she had never been able to locate the focal point of these disturbances she had always had an uneasy feeling in the area. Something dark was there but well masked and subtle. The only rumors she had of this neighborhood was an odd tidbit she had picked up weeks ago about most of the local dogs all disappearing from the area. Moradin rifled through the larger cabinet but it appeared to hold no secrets. The urns were all empty and there smaller boxes at the the bottom were full of a random collection of what appeared to be small personal effects (glasses, lockets, pocket watches, etc). He made a note to look for the locket in one box full of them, but found none that matched the description given.
