Rage Strike Redux

I love the new Barbarian preview, both mechanically and thematically. But I tend to agree with those that say the Rage Strike power is a little too clunky, and I also believe it's a little... bland. So, I just had a random idea on the bus today, and figured I'd see how it goes over, or if there are any glaring problems I'm not seeing.

[sblock=Raging Fury]Add the following to the description of Rage powers;

When you are raging and you use a power with the Rage keyword, you may choose not to use the Rage ability of that power. Instead, the base damage of the power is increased by 1[W], and any damage dealt by the attack or any secondary effects of the attack are of the same damage type dealt by any effect of your current Rage, and the attack gains the appropriate keyword. If your current Rage doesn't deal damage of a certain type, the damage type of the attack does not change.[/sblock]

I think it could be worded a little better, but I don't have time just now, as I have to vacate the computer shortly. Essentially, this accomplishes pretty much the same thing as Rage Strike; while raging, you can use your Rage powers without having to replace your ongoing Rage benefits, and you gain a bit of extra damage to offset that loss.

That's easy enough, but if anybody has any better wording for the second effect, I'd be grateful. Essentially, it means if you use a Rage power that has a certain energy type and enter the Rage for that power, then any Rage power you use after that deals that same type of damage.

An example (and I don't have the PDF on this computer, so I don't have names);
You used a Rage Power that deals fire damage on the first round of combat, and entered the rage. On the second round of combat, you use another Rage power that would normally deal thunder damage. However, you like the Rage benefit of the first power, so you choose not to use the Rage benefit of the second one. Instead, you deal +1[W] damage, and all damage dealt by the second power is fire damage instead of thunder damage.

Admittedly, you don't really need that second bit for it to work, but I figured it fit a bit with elemental style rage benefits. If you're raging with a spirit of fire, your attacks should deal fire damage, or whatever.

Anyway, any glaring problems? Ideas?
