In Raid! Pirate's Plunder, The Brethren Of The Coast has fallen apart and every pirate is now fighting for their survival against both the Navy and other pirates.
The seas are rough and the enemy is near. To survive, you must ally with the greatest and most infamous pirate of them all, Black Bart. He will reward you for delivering merchant ships to him, but you want more. If you can prove that you are more ruthless than your fellow pirates, then just maybe, you can form an alliance with Black Bart. But more importantly, you will have the satisfaction of winning Raid! Pirate's Plunder.
As the captain of a pirate vessel your job is to sail across the modular board of hex tiles - which is a unique configuration every game - and capture the merchant vessels that you find sailing along their trade routes. After committing your act of piracy you must take the vessel to Black Bart's pirate hideout to earn your payment. To do this you must avoid the Navy that polices the waters suing every advantage at your disposal from the mundane (false flags to avoid being identified or maps of secret pathways and routes) to the supernatural (calling on the power of phantom vessels or using mermaids to bewitch your enemies) and if need be you can always rely on the tried and true methods of steel and lead! You may even need to set your sights on your fellow pirate's to come out on top and impress the legendary Black Bart. At the end of the game, whoever has earned the most gold wins.
