D&D 5E Rain River Rafting

Apparently the author thought this was so obvious he didn't care to put this explanation in the actual module. Instead we get a slightly condescending reply.

But whatever. Thanks.

I think the author knew most people were smart enough to go with the flow and not require real world documentation in a fantasy world where dragon pooper scoopers could be sold.

Sorry but if you want to raft upriver that requires an explanation.

Simply "Because magic" is a fine explanation.

No explanation at all is not fine.

I didn't find it a condescending reply at all. In fact, you got a reply, directly from the author, in a fairly helpful way. Even though you refused to ask him yourself or go through the extremely minor barrier of getting a Twitter account. I'd say more than half your posts come across as more condescending than his reply...including this one.

But whatever. Thanks.

I really need to remember that your help comes attached to more baggage than I care to carry, Mistwell.

I agree with CapnZapp that this is a silly answer. First of all while reverse flows do happen, it is a very rare phenomenon, ie most rivers don't do this.

Second, it is daft to get on a flash flooding river in a raft (a poorly controllable watercraft). That sounds like a great way to drown.
