That's exactly what happens.frankthedm said:Rambo is hired to bring them upriver. The missionaries think, or at least claim, they can get in and out. Whatever protecting happens, was not actually part of the agreement
Rambo is later hired to bring the mercenaries upriver. He has no say who is on the team.
This movie was very good! It isn't some fancy war movie, or anything, but it really shows Rambo at his best. He kicks ass, and doesn't apologize for anything. He is still the tortured soul he was, and maybe even more so. And there is some major political commentary, mixed in with this movie, regarding the hell that is Burma.
A few people got up and left. I'm assuming they couldn't take it anymore. It was definitely a splatterfest. A tour of blood and the horrors of war and genocide. One audience member left for a bit in obvious emotional (or possible physical) discomfort. (She did come back, however.)
Do you remember the first time you saw Saving Private Ryan? Remember the blood on the beaches and the men flying apart, later on? If that made you sick then you likely won't want to see this movie. (Note: I'm not comparing Rambo to Saving Private Ryan beyond the blood and bodyparts flying.)
Rambo isn't a cinematic masterpiece; it's a RAMBO movie, pure and simple. As frankthedm stated, not for the squeamish. (The movie is rated 18A.)
