Ranged Precision of OotBI

Does the Ranged Precision ability of the OotBI work with any other abilities such as multiple attacks, Rapid Shot, etc? I.e. Can it be done more than once per round, or can someone use the ability and attack normally in the same round?

Since it requires a standard action, it's the only attack that can be made in that round.

OK that's what I thought.

But aren't all attacks standard actions?

WHat if I was hasted?

In 3.5, haste only grants you an extra attack when using a full-attack action.

Unless you're using 3.0, in which case I think you'd only get 2 attacks.

No, you cannot combine it with another attack action.

Ranged Precision is a standard action, not a special attack (like Grapple, for example, which can be done as an attack and is not a standard action by itself).

So you could either attack, or use Ranged Precision (which includes one attack), or use Multishot, or cast a spell, etc.

Furthermore Ranged Precision cannot be used as part of a full-attack action for the very same reason (it's a standard action, not a special attack), which makes it kinda pointless, really.

One thing I don't like about most of the archery feats and abilites is that so few can combine with each other.
Yes, but Manyshot and Greater Manyshot (from XPH) are two of the very few feats that allow more than one attack in a standard action, and Rapid Shot is the only feat (that I can think of at this moment) that can't be combined with them. Combine the manyshot feats with the OotBI's Close Combat Shot, the Arcane Archer's Enhance Arrow, and a Quiver of Anariel, and you've got yourself a pretty deadly archer with an endless supply of ammunition.
