Ranger and "other" mix, which class?

My group started playing the Pathfinder Rise of the Runelords adventure path.
My wife is playing a Shoanti Ranger 2, following the Archery combat style. She's about to upgrade to 3rd lvl and wants a little change. She wants a different class to mix with the ranger, but is only looking for a 1-2 level dip.
The character's alignment is Chaotic Good. Good stats in everything but Charisma.
She took the Spiritual Connection option from Complete Champion (replace Wild Empathy with speak with plants/animals 3/day).
Feats are: Point Blank Shot, Precise Shot, Rapid ShotB

Some caveats: 1) No main magic-using classes (so Psion is out, that was my 1st suggestion)
2) Should have average to good BAB, preferably good.
3) Book of 9 Swords, Magic of Incarnum, Tome of Magic, and most Settings books are out.

So far, she's interested in the Duskblade. It could work well, especially with True Strike as one of her spells. Don't know what the other spell would be. It also would work RP-wise as there are elves in the party, and they have made some elven friends.

Any other suggestions?

Thanks

Eh, duskblade isn't really archery-related, though. But, maybe.

Psychic Warrior would be good for 1-2 levels, to get Psionic Shot and something else as bonus feats, along with the Offensive Prescience power and Force Screen.

Fighter's fine for a 1-2 level dip, to get some bonus feats as well, though preferably more like a 4-level dip to get Weapon Specialization and thereby open up Ranged Weapon Mastery (PHB 2).

Scout or Ninja could be good for a 1, 2, or 3 level dip.

I actually like the Duskblade dip for the True Strike.

Another possibility is the Martial Rogue variant from UA. You'll get 2 Fighter feats and evasion, great skill points and selection, but you'll lose one bab over the two levels and the hit dice are d6.

Thanks,

It's funny that scout was mentioned.
I should have included that in the caveats.
We have another character who took Scout 1 and then Ranger levels. Also went the archery combat style, though she is very willing to go hand to hand.
So, my wife doesn't want an exact carbon copy, and also her desire to multi-class a little, to get some more difference between the two characters.

I'll mention the Psychic Warrior class. The character has Wisdom 14, so she'd get 1 PP a day at lvl 1, which is good. Force Shield would be a big plus.

Ninja's a good suggestion, but doesn't fit the campaign at all.

Any others?

Cheers.

Barbarian is a great 2 level dip. Fast movement, Rage 1/day, Uncanny Dodge, d12 HD, 4+skills.

No, it won't directly aid in archery, but if she's set on multiclassing, Barbarian isn't a bad choice.

Duskblade is a good combo, as could be the similar Warmage (CompArc) or Battle Sorcerer (UA).

Agreed with the suggestion about PsyWar- among other things, that opens up the possibility of taking the Psionic Shot feat tree, and resolving a ranged attack as a touch attack doesn't suck.

If she's not wearing a lot of armor, also consider Inertial Armor. Its an armor bonus, so it doesn't stack with regular armor, but it does last 1 hour/lvl.

From the same book, consider Soulknife, which opens up the Soulbow PrCl (CompPsi).

Both also open up the Kineticist PrCl, but that could also be opened up with the Wild Talent Feat. ( http://www.wizards.com/default.asp?x=dnd/psm/20040625e ) At 3rd level, you get the Bolt Afire ranged touch attack (standard act for 1d6 per Kineticist lvl), which would benefit from most of the same feats as her archery feats (+2d6 energy per hit). At 4th level, she'd be able to add the energy property directly to her ammo.

If she takes a level in a spontaneous arcane casting class and DCv1 is available, consider the Bloodline feats- they all add 1 spell/Lvl to the list of such a PC, based on their ancestry.

Just 1 level of Cleric with Magic domain allows her to use most of the spell-trigger items. and having good Fort and Will saves will help her. As she does not yet have weapon proficiency, another domain could be War.

It may seem odd but Warlock (Comp Arc) is indeed not a bad option. Eldritch blast will not give her much. But just having See the Unseen or Devil's sight is really nice for an archer (who can shoot at something she can't see?). If she takes 2 levels, she will get Detect Magic at will (really nice indeed) and another invocation. With 3 levels, she can have DR 1/Cold Iron. If she dare to take 4+ levels, Deceive Item is really strong and even if her CHA is low, she should max-out UMD throughout her warlock career.
