And breaking bows never gets difficult. We had an Arcane Archer in my last game that was Hell From Afar. She was very sad when her very, very expensive bow was sundered in a single blow from a half-orc fighter/barbarian. :D

Just curious, but how did the NPC have as good as an enhancement bonus on his weapon as the AA had on her bow?

The bow user was most likely using a bow of speedy flaming burst or something, getting extra damage dice to take advantage of the number of attacks they could make, and using Greater Magic Weapon on packs of arrows and bracers of archery to compinsate for lower to-hit bonus...

At least, that's what I'd do. 'course I'd try to have quickdraw and swap to a melee weapon once someone got in close.

EDIT: Oh, srcane archer. She won't even need the Greater Magic Weapon, then. =D

Prequisites

I find the prequisites of Rapid Shot bit odd. As well as the fact that archer or slinger doesn't need feat Quick Draw to draw arrows as a free action, while other thrown weapons need it... :( Maybe Weapon Focus to the weapon ranged attacker is using and then Quick Draw as prerequisites to take Rapid Shot would make it more balanced.

The bow in question was a +2 Flaming Mighty Composite Longbow, with access to the Far Shot Feat. The sundering weapon was a +2 Keen Greataxe. The archer wasn't exactly near the half-orc at first, but was within 30' in order to use Point-Blank Shot. The half-orc started off on the fighter-mage, but after three flaming arrows came whizzing his way, he turned and partial-charged the archer. The archer didn't have time to get rid of the bow before the one hit, and the one hit was all it took. :D

Skullfyre: I wish! :p
