I gave it a 5 for both the actual articles and the format. I am one of the people who prefer stuff like this on the computer, it is much more convenient I find.

3.

The format isn't bad but the amount of text per page, much like the physical printed products, seems way down. Especially on the "intro" pages. Looked at the new intelligent items thing and was like, "wow, wasted page there."

The fact that if you're not in America and can get it as the same time as others is good. Doesn't do anything for me personally, but I see how it's good.

The lack of different formats, like printer friendly with no borders, is also annoying but not a total loss.

Due to heavy use of color on all pages, and landscape formating making it extremely non printer friendly I had to give it a 1 as a "magazine".

While it may have good (typo filled) content, it compares mostly to the former web updates for D&D rather than a magazine.

The slated schedule for releases now published gives it a bonus towards being being a useful web presence, but everything being PDF still nullifies it a bit.

I feel it lacking in many areas with lots of room to improve and grow to earn a higher rating.

Since the new calendar of article release dates exists there is one problem down; now having actual online content in HTML format to allow for lower-cost (portrait) printing, hyperlinking articles across issues (or to the compendium), and other digital functionality not possible in a print magazine or collection of Acrobat files would go a long way to improve it towards the end goal of the Insider project.

I found the content very good so far. But since I believe one can always improve, I gave only 4 stars. ;)

Indeed, that is a good thing.

I gave it 3 stars. I don't play 4th edition, yet it has been a great source for ideas and inspiration in my 3.5E game. I would have given it 4 stars, maybe 5, if it was published in paper-and-ink format.

Ah well. P. T. Barnum said it best.
I have to agree wit this. A lot of what has been presented in the 4e Dragon is good beyond that game. I'm not into 4e but I do like several of the 4E articles and could see those articles influencing my 3.5e game.

However, it not being available in a print format anymore makes me unwilling to delve to deep into the new material. It's good, but it's not great.

The worst part is that in less than a month I won't be able to look at any of it anymore. The whole DDi subscription idea has left me a little cold towards WotC.

3.The basic pattern behind our schedule works like this: Monday and Friday are Dragon days while Wednesday is usually a Dungeon day. On each of those days there will be precisely one new thing published behind the subscription firewall. On most days it will be a feature article. At the end of the month it will be a full-issue compilation. Note that editorials and columns without game rules content (like Ampersand or Confessions of a Full-Time Wizard) will be appearing on the free side of the website and thus will not count toward your daily dose of Dragon or Dungeon. (They will still be included in the full-issue roll-ups.)

4.The free side of the website will also have at least one new piece of content on each of Monday, Wednesday, and Friday.
So there will still be material. Whether its nature will interest you, I can't guess yet. It seems obvious that most of the "good" parts will require a subscription. Not really different from a "real" magazine, of course.

I give it a 3. The content has been pretty decent so far, and I've enjoyed most of what has been presented.

Not a big fan of the lack of a printed magazine though, and also not real confident in the schedule being met on time.

5 stars, as I've found it extremely useful, and with the new plans for the update schedule, that removes one of my few concerns with it. My only other issue has been that I've wanted them to take more advantage of the ability to fix errors when they compile the article at the end of the month... but since they've created a forum to collect what errors need to be fixed, that worry has also been largely relieved!
