I saw this last night and I didn't notice one of the usual threads so I figured I'd start one.

I was disappointed. The heist wasn't nearly as compelling as the first one. It was nice to see everyone back for their role, but many of them were extraneous to the plot, whereas, in the first one everyone had a role to play in the heist. By the end, I was wondering why half of them were along for the ride.

Their was some good parts, though, so it wasn't a complete waste, but definitely a let down for me.

I enjoyed it. I agree that some characters served no purpose to the story, but they did not really slow it down either so that was ok by me. It was a good fun story that kept me entertained for 2 hours.

I thought the first one was an entertaining popcorn flick and generally enjoyed it, but I felt disappointed by this one. Just didn't have the energy of 11, and the reveal at the end (I won't say what it is other than it's the scene shot in black and white) felt kinda...cheap? Too easy I guess. After the heist in 11, what they did in this movie seemed dull.

Just my 2 cents.

I have to agree with Viking. I found Ocean's Twelve to be a bit better than Ocean's Eleven. Both were awesome, but O12 just had that "something" that put it above O11...

That's interesting. I came out of 11 thinking it was one of the best popcorn flicks I'd ever seen. It was just good fun. I came out of 12 thinking 'good, but nothing special.'

i came out of the Original Ocean's thinking good.

i came out of the remake thinking .. okay.

i came out of this one thinking. wtf??? i gave it 1 only b/c they had the crew back from the remake. but they didn't have IMO a good reason for being together. no one was doing his special job, really. they could've added any tom, dick, or harry to the crew and pulled off this heist.

I thought 12 was a little messy, mainly for the reasons everyone else talked about (some characters not contributing very much, a little too Hollywood self-referential, the reveal at the end). Still, I thought parts were very funny and enjoyed the movie overall.

Messy, but fun.

Well, there was a good reason for why they were there. They got caught and had to pay back the money, or die.

My gripe is that there wasnt enough heist action, and they kept picking off the team throughout the movie.

First Sol, then Bernie Mac, then all but 3 in jail. What i would have liked to see was all of them coming together to plan Another heist against Benedict. One that said "dont mess with us, we're the best"

Another plot hole in the movie with Mr Nightfox is the simple fact that he could have claimed to be the best theif on the world on the simple grounds that Ocean used a team, while he worked alone. Saying Ocean is the best in the world kind of devalues the team a bit.

Anywho, some of my favorite parts of the movie was the whole gag with Julia Roberts. I saw it a mile away, hell thousands of miles away (the first time Matt Damon mentioned it and got shut up). Bringing in Bruce Willis was wonderfull.

The other cute part of the movie is when the team is "rescued" by Matts Characters' parents.

This movie was fun to watch, and is a good sequal, but it lacks any really good definitive heist action, AND it was slightly harder to follow then the previous one.

Finally, the title makes you assume that there would be a twelfth team member. Despite that Tess comes in to help they never make it clear if she is 12. In the first movie all 11 were established right away. In this movie she's absent for nearly the entire thing and only appears at the start and end.

For an allstar cast, they dont integrate everyone enough like in the first movie and they gave CZJ too much attention.

I gave Oceans 11 (The Remake) a solid 8.5, I give Oceans 12 a solid 7.
