I just bought an Angelfire booster (to go with the 10 I already have). I thought it'd be an interesting experiment to see how many of the minis in it people would be pleased to get.

So, here are the contents:
Steel Predator - rare; LE; large outsider; Fiend Folio
Justice Archon - uncommon; LG; outsider; New creature
Large Air Elemental - uncommon; N; large elemental; Monster Manual
Village Priest - uncommon; LG; humanoid (human); PHB
Abyssal Skulker - common; CE; small outsider; Monster Manual II
Wild Elf Raider - common; CG; humanoid (elf); PHB+MM
Skeletal Archer - common; CE; undead; Monster Manual
Direguard - common; LE; undead; Lost Empires of Faerun

The question is simple: How many of those miniatures would you be happy to see?

Wild Elf Raider - *boring* and an ugly mini.

The skulker is cool but I have too many of them :)

So I answered 6 instead of 7.

Good pull Merric. :D

I answered "3," but it's only that low because I buy so many boosters. (In other words, I just don't need more of most of those.) If I were buying few boosters, I would answer "7" or "8." It's a good set.

I'm down for zero, as I picked up a couple of cases (24 boosters) and traded for even more of the multiples that I wanted. A dozen Caravan Guards, Hobgoblins, Kobolds, etc. Just missing the Sword Archon now.

...although taking that booster on its own merits, I like (and would use) every mini with the possible exceptions of the Justice Archon and the Abyssal Skulker. The Air Elemental and the Village Priest are my faves. The RPG value of the Village Priest alone is fantastic.

I said 4, but on later reflection it might have been 6.

Air elemental, that can always be useful. Last time I used an air elemental mini, it was a cotton ball.

The Villiage Priest is a really nifty cleric mini, and pretty much what my mental picture of an archetypical cleric is.

The wild elf mini isn't exceptional, but it's the sort of thing that somebody might want to use as a PC one day.

The skeletal archer would be another generic undead for PC's to beat up.

I didn't vote for them, but the Direguard and Justice Archon would be okay as generic undead and celestial minis.

The steel predator and abyssal skulker, bleh. Not my thing.

These are the ones that I would love from this booster. I haven't purchased any of this set yet, but I would be quite pleased to open this one.

Justice Archon - uncommon; LG; outsider; New creature
Large Air Elemental - uncommon; N; large elemental; Monster Manual
Village Priest - uncommon; LG; humanoid (human); PHB
Skeletal Archer - common; CE; undead; Monster Manual

Like others have mentioned, the Air Elemental and the Village Priest are wonderful. I paint minis and haven't found a really good Air Elemental, so getting a plastic pre-painted that is solidly decent is great! I'll also echo others with that Village Priest - a wonderfully iconic representation and tons of usage can be had from that one mini. (I especially fawn over minis that can be used in an urban setting as well as in combat elsewhere.) The Skeleton Archer and the Justice Archon are just gravy. You can't have too many skeleton-types, IMO. ;)

Nice pack, MerricB.

Is it just me (and Crothian)? I'm getting tired of seeing all these minis with ridiculously oversized weapons (Wild Elf Raider the case in point).

3 - village priest, air elemental, skeletal archer.

I'm not into D&D minis, but that archon looks pretty cool (I don't like the sword's tip, but that's easily fixed). The air elemental, too. Painted differently and with some mods, it could make for an impressive ooze-like creature. I don't like the skeleton, though it could be the painting.

Also, why is the banana held by the elf painted steel instead of yellow?
