Rate Tim Burton's Alice in Wonderland (2010)

So what did you think of Burton's Alice in Wonderland?

I'll take my Alice with Teniel illustrations and a nonlinear not-quite-plot, thank you. Some interesting make-up and effects, but disappointing.

Lackluster. The story felt disjointed. Also, the mad hatter wasn't mad enough - just sorta depressed. Needed more mad mad hatter and cheshire cat!

I liked Alice's dress made of the red queen's draperies, though. I'm wondering if I can make one for halloween next year!

The characters were mostly spot-on, the scenery was beautiful, the story was disjointed - but then, so was the original book. One quip I have is that the movie will not be accessible to those who haven't read the book or seen one of the previous films.

I expected a bit more from Depp's performance, I admit.

There were bits I really liked, and I liked a lot of the visuals, but as a whole it felt kinda disjointed. It's hard to say what specifically was wrong with it, but it was definitely not Burton's (or Depp's) best work.

On the plus side, if they ever do a 'real' Dragonlance film, the girl who played Alice would be a perfect fit for Laurana.

Really? I thought it was quite accessible. Hardly anyone I know has read the books or remembers the original animation. Both were even more disjointed and bizarre.

I saw it today. It was good but not great. I was suprised to see that it the Jabberwocky and not the books being told. It has aspects from Alcie in Wonderland and Beyond the Looking Glass but story was the poem and that needed a lot of extra parts for it to be a movie.
