RAW interpretation on save

Just wondering what the RAW take on this situation was.

I have a watersoul Genasi. They get a +2 on save vs ongoing damage effects. Someone shoots her with a "Hunter Bear Trap" causing 5 ongoing and slowing her.

On her next save she rolls a 9. Enough with her bonus to get rid of the damage, but not enough to get rid of the slow. But "Hunters Bear Trap" explicately states that you roll once for both effects.

I know how I would play it, but Im curious about what the official take would be. So, how does this resolve?

The fact that the save also ends a slow effect doesn't change the fact that it's also a save against ongoing damage. The bonus applies to the whole save, you don't resolve it on a per-effect basis.

conceputally, "save ends both" implies that the conditions are linked or causal. In the case of Hunter's Bear Trap, the slow is being caused by the damage...ditch the damage and you ditch the slowed.

Horrific black fire (for a hypothetical example) that deals 5 fire and 5 necrotic damage (save ends both) is one fire dealing two types of damage but if you put out the fire it is out. They are linked. So a +2 on saves versus fire would help you all around.
