RAW on Fast Healing (e.g., by Vigor)

I'm almost positive that I've read in an official source that the vigor spells (and fast healing in general) only worked to heal wounds incurred after the fast healing came into effect.

Is this true? If so, can someone point me to the specific place in the RAW ehere this is explicit?

No, it's wrong.

The ring of regeneration says so, and we have a magic item, which grants continuous fast healing in our current campaign, which also has this limitation and which I mentioned here in a recent thread about a ring of vampiric regeneration.

Ah, I also think the 3.0 versions of the Vigor spells worked like that, they should be in MotW, if you want to check (different spell name, tho).
