A fighter with a glaive has 10 ft reach. The orc brute attacks him and moves through his threatened area. The question is, can he make an AoO with the glaive? Since the glaive can'be used at 5 ft, I assume the AoO is triggered once the orc moves from 10 ft to 5 ft. and hence can the glaive be used?

I think that since the AoO takes place before the orc moves to 5 ft away, the AoO still happens with the glaive. Is that correct?

The AOO is triggered just before the orc moves from 10 feet to 5 feet, so the glaive can be used.

What Firelance said. It would really suck if reach weapons gave you an AoO against creatures moving through the threatened area, but you couldn't actually take the AoO since you had a reach weapon
