Reach Question

Question: My Mount (Celestial Dire Wolf) is Large and has reach. My DM says it's only 6ft tall though so is unable to attack over a medium creature (effectively squashing reach). Anyway you can think of I can convince him otherwise?

At the very least attacking over someone should give at least 3/4ths cover to the opponent.

I'm curious why your dire wolf (even a celestial one) has reach. Dire wolves are Large (long), not Large (tall).
