What is it and where is it from? I keep hearing about it used to make ranged spells into melee attacks, but I would really love to read the details.

It's from a Dragon article about Shadar-Kai, though it does not require that you be one. It only applies to a very select number of spells, most of which can already be ranged basic attacks (magic missile, acid orb, eldritch blast, etc).

Anyone know which "issue" of dragon? I've gotten the impression that there's a don't list full rules from DDI stuff on the boards, which is cool. I just don't want to have to subscribe just to see if a feat would be good for a character I may never even have the chance to use. But if I knew the issue number I could have a DDI subscribed friend look it up for me and get me the relavent feat info.

Or just check it out in the Character Builder. The trial version has all the heroic feats.

Yeah, but the trial version (and the full version) don't work on my Mac.

(no, I'm not the OP, but I'm in a similar situation vis-a-vis Dragon subscribing.)

I know how it is for us Mac people, but I've had great success with VMWare Fusion.
