Recent NWN1 Update the last?

Very curious ... I just re-installed NWN1 on my machine (had to rebuild my machine because of a motherboard fry) and found I had to go to the atari website and download a 60mb patch to manually update my platinum v. of it.

I don't remember the auto-updater ever NOT working before. Anyone out there know whether Atari has officially said "no more updates from us for NWN1!" at all?

I sure hope the CEP community will keep developing things for NWN1 ... and sure hope NWN2 releases a DM patch soon after the product comes out. Without it it'll sure make sucking old NWN modules into NWN2 more limited in it's ability.

By the way ... if you do update to the NWN1 1.67 patch and have CEP1.52 installed don't forget to install the tiny but necessary CEP 1.53 patch!

ANYway ... any feedback on this from the more knowledgeable out there?

There are tentative plans for a 1.68 patch. I would not be hopeful on anything after that.

Wouldn't this also depend on the sales of the DD modules like Infinite Dungeons? I'm buying it of course, supporting your favorite developer needs to be done ;-)

I would guess that minor patches may still come out, but they will be less and less frequent, depending on continued support for the product through sales.

I bought the Plat version 2-3 months ago, auto-update worked fine. Might simply have been a connection issue.

I recently got back into NWN after not playing for awhile, I sold my orginal copies of the game and expansions. I picked up the Dimond edtion NWN to have everything on one DVD. I had a problem updating as well. But on the NWN site they said there was an issue with the dimond edtion auto updater. I uninstalled and did the critcal rebuild and I was fine after that.

The 1.67 patch rocked, and there's a lot of great custom content in the works from what I can see. I definitely can't wait for the CEP 2 to be released. And the first CTP. And...

Hwch, NWN has had a pretty good run. Not too many other PC games stay around this long.
