Looking for something good in the way of audio books.

Got to be a great story - got to listen well too. Narrative quality is important.

Song of Ice and Fire has been listened to a few times now. (And I would rate Roy Dotrice as "amazing" in terms of a narrator.)

Please recommend something else!

The first auidobook I ever listened to was King Solomon's Mines, narrated by Patrick Tull. He does an amazing job. I highly recommend it. (I listened to a wee bit of the LibriVox recording mentioned above, and it pales in comparison.)

I also enjoyed The Gunslinger (narrated by George Guidall).

Outside of genre fiction, I'd recommend The Colorado Kid (Stephen King, narrated by Jeffrey DeMunn) and all of the No. 1 Ladies' Detective Agency series (Alexander McCall Smith, narrated by Lisette Lecat).
