Recommend me a 3rd level adventure

I would recommend Morric Mansion as well, except for one thing. It is a curse type as well. Tomb of Abysthor is too deadly as well. You could still use it. Just do enough random encounters in the outside areas to get them to 4th level. They also need to be a well balanced party. ToA is also 3.0, but so are all of the other modules mentioned. The freebies from WOTC are also good. If you can get it Lost City of Barakus is very good. Pricey, but good, very good.

I have also heard good things about the Goddman Games modules. So much so that I will start buying them with my March gaming budget. I have also bought several of their "Compleat" guides, which is something you may want to look at for future possibilities. Of course the Dopplegangers and Wererats would be good for your parties current level. Those two alone can fuel a whole campaign. Or at least one to about 12th level.

Bummer; that's the first time I've heard of it crashing and burning. How far did you get? If the PCs up and leave, you can later have the entire dragon-swayed town creating problems. :D

I'm all for bitter DM's revenge against the players. :) We made it as far as getting into the mountain and they had their first set of dreams, but we started to sort of drift off and lose interest. I even killed the old farmer and had the horses attack them, but we just got kind of blah about it all. We had a lot of party turnover too which made it harder to keep continuity.

You should go with something totally different in tone next time, then. For a PBEM, maybe something more dungeony? What does the group like?

Traditionally they're big on dungeons and character development, but not too interested in world-driven sorts of plots except so far as they impact the character development and dungeony stuff.

The party right now is:
derro rogue
aasimar paladin of Helm (the kind of paladin you'd go out drinking with, not the kind who leads an inquisition)
halfling cleric of Brandobaris/rogue
Halfling druid (probably leaving the party soon in favor of another PC the player likes)
Human charisma rogue
Human fighter (originally a potato farmer)
Human monk of selune
Human child (rescued by the party, now adopted by the derro and working on taking rogue levels)

All are second or third level and will all be third for the new adventure. I'm going to give them a small bump in XP as a sort of concession prize for my pick of OSM not working out for us.

Well thanks for the pluggo blatante, but I'm sorry to say OSM is what wer're strung out on.
That's a shame, 'cause it's a GREAT adventure. I'm *still* getting mileage (and smiles) out of "yeah, we destroyed an evil mind-controlling rock. It was a close thing.". :D (BTW, Piratecat, any firm dates on OSM2 yet?)

Another one would be "Belly of the Beast", especially if you've got dedicated RPer's

Tell me about it. I got all excited about it and then went and let the thing fall flat on us. Too close to the last thing we did. Maybe I'll get another shot at it sometime.

Who makes it?

Who makes it?

Atlas Games. Its a Mike Merls adventure.

It's from Atlas Games Penumbra line, authored by Mike Mearls. Mr Mearls is my leading choice for "RPG developer most likely to be a caffinated robot". He's also one of the few developers I recognize (positively) by name.
