Recommended sourcebook for familiars?

The humanoid familiar rules are really fun especially when you add a trait or two that spices things up. The GM can have a heyday with familiars by using the Dweomercraft book. No one will ever treat them the same way again... :)

Good evening Gentle Folk,

Looking over the review for Dweomercraft I quickly realized that this product and The Book of Familiars are not competing projects. Dweomercraft obviously focuses on expanding the role of the familiar in the game through fleshing out the familiar or companion itself and strengthening the bonds between said creature and its master.
Probably quite true. I'm looking forward to seeing a copy of the product from Troll Lords to see which topics that book covers.

I know, I could get someone to do a pre-press reveiw, now that would be cool.

I returned my Mongoose familiar book to the game shop; sold it back at a slight loss, even. Found it to be wholly unremarkable, and in some places it elicited a "Huh?!" reaction. I've since put it out of my mind, so I can't recall the specific examples (although I mentioned them somewhere on this board in another thread a while back).
