Reconstructing classes

For a new campaign setting that I haven't finished thinking up, I'm going to have priest, holy wariors, Book mages and Natural mages. Priest have expanded domain spells only, much like spheres (AFAICT) from 2nd edition. Holy warriors are more like paladins/clerics with a few spells and abilities they gain relate to dieties (few in setting). Book mages Cast spells from items like gems, books, wands etc. Natural mages cast directly from the Source (like the weave) more powerful but far, far more dangerous.

Those are just the spell casters, most others stay the same no barbarian.

Whta do you think?

Sounds pretty good. You'll have to fiddle with the spell lists so they're all as much fun to play as the others, but it sounds like a reasonable way to divide things up.

Also I negleticed to say this but the Magic will need to be "worked for" Such as (making this up on the spot) invisiblity effecting only so many people, as it is enchantment.

Ah, that would be an even more extensive change. How many spells would you be changing that way? And do you have any ideas on the mechanics you would use for your changes?

Absolutly no idea.

But I am aiming for less *poof* magic, morechants and reasoning. Such as items don't grow with size when you do, dragons can't fly/no wings. Creatures evolved, etc.
