I have not disappeared, but a seminar takes more time than anticipated this and the next week. If you want to move me down on your list, that's ok with me. I have to postpone my work on the character and if others can act more quickly, i'll have to accept the misfortune of being replaced. =)

Not a problem. Have you picked up "Lords of Madness", by chance? On page 9 it details the origins of the chuuls, including their creator, who altered himself with sahuagin grafts.

With 3e templates and Savage Species, it's fairly easy to create a half-troll (scrag) merrow or a half-merrow (ogre) scrag, then advance them using monster levels.
