Redesigning the D&D website

I like the design.

Here are my nitpicks (I am a software developer, and despite working with WPF, I have little clue on design, so take anything I say with a grain of salt ;) ):
- The top seems a bit overloaded to me with all the images and stuff. Maybe seeing this "live" would change the feel.
- Maybe I missed it, but there definitely needs to be some link to page where you see the articles organized stronger. The blog style isn't bad, but if I were to search the site, I'd need more.

P.S, regarding your own site/blog: if you want me to see the video, don't require Flash. I don't have it and won't be installing it on this computer. I suggest a youtube video...

YouTube requires Flash 7, so what's the difference?

Two thumbs up to Chibbell's design. Not only does it showcase WotC's fantastic artists' works but frames it in a cutting edge design that makes everything a breeze to find. I love the blog style articles list, and the nudges to the print layout elements.

WotC's online offerings have always been trailing behind the pack, when their print works have been leading it. I can only hope from the bottom of my heart that they're listening this time. What a joy a D&D site based on Chibbell's design would be to read.

You talked the talk....and you definitely walked the walk with the redesign.

I have to agree, your "new" DnD site is much more comfortable on the eyes, and from the home page it appears that it would be easier to navigate to the information I want.

Top notch.

Great job. Now can you fix Gleemax as well. :)

(I'm not really serious, just that WotC's current site is a design paradise compared to Gleemax)

son of a ... That is freaking awesome.
There should be some sort of design primer thing for us developers. That thing looks as visually elegant as my webservice application framework, ajax, and DB code is programmatically elegant. Just spending 5 minutes analyzing the image and breaking down into psuedocode elements and css in my head has already got my brain spinnning with ideas. If only i had more artistc talent than a stale donut :P

mmmm Donuts...

Firstly, looks fantastic!

Secondly, WotC web design team probably suffers from the same issue as I see daily at my place of employment. While the designers are very creative and competent and have great eyes for user experience, the sites themselves are approved by commitee made up of managerial people who have none of those skills and are too self-important to take the advice of those that do.

Much like I said on your forums, you did a great job with the redesign. I can only hope Wizards will turn their eye to the site's design as they've done with the print books.
