Reducing rewards for a grittier system.

I'm fairly confident that by assigning a +1 inherent bonus to attacks and defences at 5th, 15th and 25th levels, that reducing the limit of magical plusses on items to +1 in heroic, +2 in paragon and +3 in epic that I can recreate a more item neutral setting.

However, correlating this to how one dishes out rewards seems to be a mathematical challenge that I'm just not up to figuring out.

So I put it to you, dear EN Worlder, using the above limits, how would you alter the treasure/reward parcel system to accurately reflect these limitations?

The easiest is to just keep prices the same, even with the reduction of enhancement bonuses since most items have effects other than the enhancement bonus.

That standard +2 flaming sword that you made a +1 flaming sword in your campaign will cost the same.

An aside, but I don't see how you'e making your campaign grittier or item neutral if you're just taking part of the enhancement bonus from items and giving it to your players. Removing or drastically reducing magic items, I can see, but I don't see the point in merely reducing enhancement bonuses. Seems to create more work than worth it.

I'm going to up the level of all items by 10. Therefore, a 1st-level item is now an 11th-level item and all items above 20th-level are now beyond the reach of most mortals. Potions are only increased by 5 levels, as are all rituals.

My real problem is sorting out how much gold to give. Should the amounts be reduced? If so, by how much to balance it with the rest of the changes?
