Reign of Fire d20

Allo. Saw Reign of Fire last weekend. While I have some problems with the movie (the story is told so fast you are not given a chance to get to know the world or the story of why this is all happening) I did overall enjoy the movie (awesome visuals, without a doubt--great to see what dragon breath looks like, a more-or-less flight of dragons, and a dragon strife attack).

More than anything, I really enjoyed the setting; whoever crafted the milieu did an awesome job (it was in the scriptwriting that they screwed up). The world is rich, has a lot of background details that bring it wondrously to life. In fact, that is my main gripe with the movie: I want to learn a lot more about the world this is happening. I want to know more about the setting. Alas, you are only given hints here and there and not much more else.

Above anything, Reign of Fire presents an amazing setting for d20/d20 Modern/D&D. I was itching to play in that world upon leaing the theatre, and given the opportunity I still would.

Does anyone know if there has been any attempt by any company to get the rights to do Reign of Fire as a d20 setting? It would provide a great crossover between d20 and d20 Modern. Not to mention I think it would be a good seller.

And while I am at it come on people where is Swords of Lankmar d20, haven't any of you fallen in love with Fritz Leiber's writing yet.

The Tales of Falfhrd and the Grey Mouser, and the world of Nehwon are perfect for a D&D Setting with a twist.

Shouldn't be too hard..the dieties and most iconic characters were given 2nd edition stats in the 2nd edition Legends and Lore book by TSR.....shouldn't be to hard to convert

???

Um, shouldn't this Lankmar stuff go in its own thread and leave this one for the topic it was created? Thought that was the whole point of threads...

umm...

probably should have. but it was one post. lotsa threads have a few posts of OT subject matter, they usually dont get noticed because they get lost in the other posts of On Topic discussion, which this thread didnt have.

While i have not seen the movie, im imagining it shouldnt be too hard to tweak modern earth into a dragon ravaged wasteland. city road maps could be modified and such.

Maybe pic up or flip thru Judge Dredd or The End for ideas.
