For those that knew where I was before, I'm now settled in in Denver. I spent all last week in a workshop to learn how to teach the new curriculum (very heavily constructivist approach to mathematics, but not quite IMP) and my kids start on the 15th of August. However, I have yet to see my room, get a bell schedule (which is going to be kind of flexible), or even be in the building (which was under construction for the last 4 months). I'm very excited. :)

Sounds great. If you don't mind my asking, where do you live before?

I have been considering Denver as somewhere I'd like to live. I currently live in high altitude with snowy winters and dry air.

I am sure the elevation is a big change, for one. I've never been to Denver, but I currently live at 5,566 feet (close to the "mile-high" Denver elevation).

Thanks.

Be sure to check out the Ren Faire in Larkspur next summer. It's pretty fun and in a lovely setting of mountains. There's also lots to do in a drive between Pueblo and Denver on I-25. One of my favorite parts of the country :)

Well, its about an hour away, if I remember right, but I know of some gamers (one extremely OUTSTANDING in all aspects of gaming) in Colorado Springs.

The Outstanding Gamer - and I can't stress this enough, that guy is my measuring stick for other gamers - visits Denver at least one weekend a month, sometimes two. He's got relatives over there.
