Remove Disease and Werewolves

recently a 4th level Paladin used remove disease on a werewolf foe, and i have no clue what effect it would have on the lycanthropy, would it cure it? or would it just hurt?

It wouldn't have any effect. If the opponent was a natural lycanthrope, he cannot be cured. If his lycanthropy was a result of being bitten by a werewolf, it can be cured, but not in this manner. The MM (pg.219) section on curing lycanthropy says that a "remove disease or heal spell cast by a cleric of at least 12th level also cures the affliction, provided the character receives the spell within three days of the lycanthrope's attack." Otherwise a remove curse or break enchantment is required.

It wouldn't do anything. See MM p. 219 for the legitimate methods of curing the curse of lycanthropy: (a) remove disease only works within 3 days of infection, (b) after that you require a remove curse or break enchantment, within a day of a full moon, plus a Will save DC 20 by the afflicted.
