Replacing Psy. War. Weapon Spec.

OK, I tried this once before, but I never actually wrote it down and don't remember my fix.
What I'm trying to do is find something cool and unique to replace the Psy. War.'s weapon spec., which I really don't like. This would be an ability that only Psy. War. would get.

What I would like to know is this:
1. Are these feats balanced? Should the damage dice or maximum damage be changed?
2. Is it balanced to replace weapon spec. with what is presented here?
All suggestions are welcome. Here goes:

At 6th level or at any time afterwards, a psychic warrior receives the following as soon as and at any time he meets the prerequisites.

Improved Psionic Shot
Prerequisites: Dex 13+, Point Blank Shot
Benefit: As Psionic Shot, except as follows. The psychic warrior may increase the number of points spent in order to increase the extra damage given to the ranged weapon. For every point spent, damage is increased by 1D4, i.e. spend 3 PPs for +3D4 damage is the attack is successful. The psychic warrior cannot spend more points than his manifester level.

If the psychic warrior already has Psionic Shot upon receiving this feat, he may choose a new feat to replace Psionic Shot.

Improved Psionic Weapon
Prerequisites: Str 13+, Power Attack
Benefit: As Psionic Weapon, except as follows. The psychic warrior may increase the number of points spent in order to increase the extra damage given to the melee weapon. For every point spent, damage is increased by 1D4, i.e. spend 3 PPs for +3D4 damage is the attack is successful. The psychic warrior cannot spend more points than his manifester level.

If the psychic warrior already has Psionic Weapon upon receiving this feat, he may choose a new feat to replace Psionic Shot.
